A Day in the Life of David

Typically I wake up around 6:30am (but that can change depending on when Rachel decides to wake up and call out "Daddy" from her room). Usually there's bath tub water from the night before that I needs to be dumped outside and sometimes I help cook the oats we have for breakfast.

After breakfast I usually head out to my office around 8 or 8:30.

Working away on the computer in my office (emails, project management stuff, brainstorming/designs)

From 9:30-10:30am on Monday's, Thursday's and Friday's we have our Arabic language lesson so I walk back home from the office (only a 2 minute walk).

The remainder of the morning is spent working on a construction project or:
- if it's Monday in the chapel service with the students from 11-12
- if it's Wednesday at our faculty staff meeting from 11-12

I come home for lunch with Karen and Rachel and then I head back out for my afternoon that can include anything from more construction work, more work in the office planning for future projects and answering emails, or heading into town to practice my Arabic.  Around 4:30 I come home and play with Rachel, swim in the river, or Karen, Rachel and I will visit with students and their families.

Other random tasks like moving charcoal from the river up into a storage container

Cooling off in the river after a busy day

After supper you'll find me giving Rachel a bath and then when she goes down to sleep around 8pm Karen and I have some time to talk about our days, listen to some Arabic discussion mp3s, read, or if its Saturday night typically we watch a movie. 10 or 10:30 I call it quits and my head hits the pillow and within 5 minutes I'm out.

Bath time with Rachel.  Occasionally she decides it's better if she keeps her dress on.

Saturday's and Sunday's are different and you can either find me at the market, playing with Rachel, playing guitar by the river, at the local church or hanging out with our teammates.
